The universal Hip Hop museum will open in 2023 in the Bronx

Hip-hop attained widespread popularity in the 1980s and ‘90s. The term hip-hop refers to four elements i.e deejaying, rapping, style and attitude. It was originated in the South Bronx section of New York City in the late 1970s. Few years after promoting the concept, the construction of the museum is finally going to start putting on the view of the history of hip-hop in the district where it was started.

The construction will be over 1,000 units of housing, a permanent home, and a waterfront esplanade for the Hip-hop museum. Teams have been scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks on the exterior street and 149th street to start the Bronx point development– an entertainment complex and housing.

The museum will have the development of honoring the music and other parts of the hip-hop culture like Break Dance and Graffiti art. According to the director of the museum, the construction got to hold up because of the situation and budget issues.

Rocky Bucano says that they have been waiting for this moment for a very long time, they were set for the next summer but because of the budget limitations, they got push back. But, now they are finally going to start the construction for which people have been eagerly waiting for.

Later this year an official groundbreaking ceremony will happen. The organizers hope to open the museum in 2023 in the honor of hip-hop’s genre 50th anniversary.
